Trimalis

Koen Boeijinga - saxophone, wind instruments, harmonium, percussion, fx Galya Sky - cello, kanklės, fx Joost Lijbaart - drums, percussion

A trinity of wind, string, and percussion instruments. Trimalis unites three musical nomads: drummer/percussionist Joost Lijbaart, woodwind player and multi-instrumentalist Koen Boeijinga, and cellist Galya Sky. The trio combines traditional and unorthodox instruments – including clay flutes, bagpipes, harmoniums, Lithuanian kanklės, and African and Asian percussion – with cello, saxophone, drums, and modern effects. The result is a sonic universe where ancient voices and contemporary expression meet.

A Trimalis concert is more ritual than performance: intuitive, hypnotic, and boundless. Out of improvisation and instinct unfolds an adventurous journey through emotions, atmospheres, and timeless landscapes – in search of the essence of being human and the beauty of wonder.

“From the very first notes you are drawn into a ritual: Trimalis sounds like a travelling companion leaving traces all over the world — ecstatic, enchanting, and irresistible.”
