Koen Boeijinga (solo)

Koen Boeijinga - saxophone, duclar, bagpipe, flutes, harmonium, shruti-box, percussion, fx

In his solo performances, Koen Boeijinga presents a remarkable one-man-band experience, orchestrating multiple instruments at once. His wind instruments – saxophone, clay flutes, bagpipes, and duclar – take center stage, while hypnotic drones from the shruti-box and harmonium, along with the deep pulse of a bass drum, set the ambient scenery. Further enriching his music with bells, percussions and subtle effects, Koen creates a multi-layered and immersive sound world in which ancient and new tones merge. Like a modern nomad, he roams through diverse musical landscapes with his “herd of instruments”, delivering an enchanting performance full of surprises.
